Two men were killed and a woman left fighting for her life after a homeless New York City man allegedly committed a series of random stabbings, police said.

NEW YORK (AP) — A man carried out a string of stabbings across a swath of Manhattan on Monday morning, killing two people and critically wounding a third without uttering a word to his victims, officials said.

Three unprovoked stabbings across Manhattan Monday morning left two men dead and one woman “fighting for her life,” according to the New York City Police Department. A man is in custody, police said.
