Finally, Gov. Kathy Hochul has green-lighted a new toll that will help reduce traffic and pollution in Manhattan and provide billions of dollars for mass transit. Thanks are due, we suppose, for ending this patently political delay in the face of obvious political urgency.

The governor had put the plan on pause in June just before the originally proposed toll of $15 was set to take effect.
