The U.S. Department of Justice has agreed to pay $22.6 million to settle a lawsuit by 34 women who claim they were wrongly dismissed from the FBI's agent training academy because of their sex, according to a court filing on Monday.

The FBI agreed to pay over $22 million to settle a class-action lawsuit over sexual discrimination toward women at the Quantico, Virginia, training facility. If approved by a federal judge, the lawsuit would rank as one of the biggest settlements in the history of the FBI.

Allegations include inappropriate remarks about women's breast size and suggestions to use contraception to 'control their moods.'
