Gov. Brian Kemp joined several elected officials, emergency responders, and other officials Monday in Augusta-Richmond County as the area begins to slowly rebuild from the devastation caused when the remnants of Hurricane Helene struck the region and numerous other communities across the state early Friday.

Shepeard has not collected any blood since Hurricane Helene hit the CSRA, but it has supplied more than 150 blood products to area hospitals. Hurricane Helene swept through causing devastation all across the CSRA and the southeast - damaging trees, power lines and hundreds of houses. If you have been impacted and need shelter, here’s where you can find it throughout the CSRA. At least 21 deaths in the CSRA are blamed on Hurricane Helene, including five young kids. The deaths span the CSRA, including Richmond, Aiken, Saluda, Washington, Columbia and McDuffie counties.
