Earl Albert, a widower from West Stockbridge, Massachusetts, who donated the 2024 Rockefeller Center Christmas tree, suffered a stroke before the tree lighting.

For the first time since 1959, this year's Rockefeller Center tree comes from Massachusetts - West Stockbridge, to be exact. It was a donation from Michael Albert and his family, who are residents of the town. As of this morning (Nov. 12), the tree was set into position, where it will soon be decorated for the holiday season.

It was unclear whether Earl Albert will be able to recuperate in time to attend the nationally televised lighting ceremony in Manhattan on Dec. 4, but family members are hopeful.
