This is a very attractive lighthouse and a guiding light for the harbor. It did serve an important purpose, now it serves to boost tourism and it does. We thought it was very charming, a landmark. Full review by Thomas V

Do we need permission to have a 15-20 minute wedding ceremony there beside the lighthouse, if it's just the two of us and the officiant? Is this considered private property?

We parked on the side of the road and took a trail to the lighthouse....there wasn't a soul around...if you are willing to chance it, you can maybe just go for it?????

I don't recall how well you can see Beavertail from Castle Hill, but I stopped on my way home. If you don't take the second bridge as you leave Newport and head to Jamestown it's not a far drive. The area is beautiful...well worth the short trip!
why did the directions send me to castle hill inn ans restaurant?

The lighthouse is located on the same property. If you park at the far end of the parking lot, there is a short path that will take you to the lighthouse.
