Great railroad museum. Took kids and they loved it! Tours of a caboose, and 1800’s era rail car and a rail yard tower were fantastic. Outdoor model train exhibit is terrific and indoor, very detai… Full review by SheriffofTexas

On a day there is nothing special on the calendar, can you ride on a train or miniature train? What is on exhibit all year long? I'm trying to find an educational but fun activity that will be fun for an almost 2 year old (very bright and active, very curious).

We have taken our grandchildren. They are preschoolers and we had the tour guide tailor the tour for their ages, skipping some of the tour when the were getting restless. They enjoyed the introductory film (cartoon) which is shown at the beginning of the tour. The old crossing signal delighted them when the guide activated it. At the end of the tour there is a play room with toy trains & tracks and they loved it. They enjoyed playing with the other children in the room. The room has an observation deck, so they were excited when the real trains passed by on the train tracks. The guides are excellent!
